Dettifoss waterfall is located in the north of Iceland Mývatn on River Jökulsá Fjöllum s, which is of glacial origin. It is regarded as the most powerful waterfall in Europe with water between 200 to 500 cubic meters per second (flow rate depends on time of year, especially in summer flow is high due to melting glaciers). Waterfall is 100 meters wide with an elevation 44 m.

Jökulsárgljúfur National Park is located 15 km north of the Falls.
